<< Return to RECENT UPDATES

We hope you find it a useful resource. The issue of how the lands and communities surrounding the Carp Ridge will develop is vitally important to all of us in the area. And make no mistake, plans are in process that will mean change and lots of it. The difficult part for each of us will be in deciding how we feel about each of them and then getting our opinions into the mix.

Having participated in the process that has led to the release by the City of Ottawa of a draft plan for the future development of the village of Carp I know that the more you know about these things the less you realize you really know. This website is intended to provide a place to gather some important and relevant information about our area and hopefully motivate and facilitate your becoming involved.

To be clear, we are in no way against development in general.  On the contrary, there are many many ways to improve our communities and add to the quality of life of all of us who live here.  At the same time we are not forgetting that individuals and companies have a financial stake in the development and they too deserve a level playing field where we all know the rules and work together to make sure they are followed to the letter of the law.

In the coming weeks we are going to gather land use information for the site, that will show what types of development are possible in our area.  We will describe plans that are in process and provide as much information as we can find about them.  We will include contact information for City, Regional, Provincial and the staff of other relevant organizations in the processes.  To begin with we will be focusing on Carp’s planning and the proposed subdivision planned for the Carp Ridge just north of Thomas Dolan Parkway on Carp Road.

If you choose to sign up for e-bulletins from us we will keep you up to date with changes and additions to our website.

We will never have the resources to make this site the only place to go for information on this topic but we hope it will get you into action. We welcome and encourage submissions of material for the site from all parties.
