Carp Plan to go before the City Planning and Development Committee

Myles Mahon from the City has kindly supplied the following information.

The next step in the process of having Carp's redevelopment plan come closer to final approval is that  that the Community Design Plan goes to Planning and Development Committee.  Planners  will be asking that the Committee recommend that City Council approve the Plan.  The Planning and Development Committee meeting is on June 22 at 9:30 am in the Champlain Room at 110 Laurier Avenue West.  This is a public meeting and if you wish to speak please contact Lorenzena Ferrari (580-2424 ext. 28828) who is the secretary of the committee.

The Plan has been revised based on input from the community meeting and the comments received following the recent release of the first draft of the plan.  Prior to the meeting Myles Mahon (myles.mahon@ottawa.ca) (613-580-2424, ext. 27817) will send a copy of the staff report to Planning and Development Committee to all people who provided comments or attended the community meeting.

So this is the next opportunity to affect our future here in Carp.  If you want to get involved and haven't been so far, then call or email Mr., Mahon and he will make sure you get a copy of the revised plan.  My experience with Mr. Mahon is that he has worked very hard  on this plan and that any reasonable request for information will be dealt with quickly and thoroughly.  If you have been involved I'd suggest that when you get a copy of the plan you read It carefully. If you want to make comments in support of the plan or if you wish to  ask that more time and opportunity for input to the plan be allowed then this is time to do it.

Once Council approves this plan then it becomes our future.

Additionally, if people have concerns with the revised plan they should contact their Councillor - Eli El-Chantiry.
