• Population Growth (high resolution JPG)   [CarpRidge.ca caption follows] The map you see here is a City of Ottawa document that reflects the city's projections for population growth in our area (area 20 on the map). From a populatin in 2001 of 20,800 they predict a 27 percent increase in population by 2011.
  You have to compare that to the numbers for other areas. The rural areas are expected to bear a major load of population growth and its clear the major increases in population in the rural areas will mean significant change. It could easily be argued that it will have a much higher quality of life impact in the rural areas.
